Ever since I can remember, I have always considered myself as an adventurer on the hunt
for treasure. I take on every opportunity I earn with the same initiative. I think that with
every new adventurous opportunity, I am getting closer and closer to reaching treasure.
Whether that treasure is gaining knowledge, experience, or new skillsets, I recognize that with
every new opportunity comes growth. It is for this reason that I joined Diverse Influencers as a
Business Fellow.
I am currently a sophomore at Hunter College on intending to double major in Media
Studies and Economics, with a Business Certification. Although I do not know what
Specific career fields I am interested in, I do know that I want to combine my knowledge of film and business into one area of study. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, and trying different types of cuisine around New York City.
As a person from an immigrant family living with low income, I wish to obtain a stable job to help my family financially.
It is important for me to invest time in my professional development because it gives me more opportunities to obtain a career,
hopefully a career that I am interested in. I joined Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow with these goals in mind.
I am currently a sophomore majoring in Art, with the intention to either minor or double major in Computer Science, at Brooklyn College.
My goal is to work in the Video Game industry as a programmer or concept artist. In my free time I enjoy working on various personal
art projects, playing video games and reading comics.
As the daughter of Latinx immigrant parents, I have always been dedicated to working hard in school, work, and family.
For me, I discovered my passion for tech early in my high school career by applying to various tech programs in NYC.
I want to further cultivate a career in tech for myself now that I am in college. For this reason,
I applied to Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow.
I am currently a freshman at CUNY Brooklyn College and Macaulay Honors College studying towards a Bachelor in Science in Computer Science.
I am currently working as a peer mentor at America On Tech, a program I too participated in, where I provide support to students in
learning web-development. I have also joined the Brooklyn College Computer Science club and have been an advisee with
Built By Girls since sophomore year of high school. Aside from this, I enjoy playing the ukulele and learning new songs!
I am a first-generation college student in my sophomore year at Queens College, intending on double majoring in
Economics and Political Science. As a descendant of first-generation immigrants from South Asia, I am strongly
motivated to become financially independent and achieve the highest level of education possible. Ever since I was little,
I’ve had a burgeoning interest in technology. I joined Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow to meet like-minded
and ambitious individuals, because I am a big believer in solidarity through community. I currently volunteer at the
Muslim Jewish Solidarity Committee, where we strive to create greater in faith dialogue and understanding via community
service and educational programs. In my spare time, I am either reading, trying to pick up a new recipe, or
playing around with design apps.
As a first-generation college student growing up in a Hispanic household, I am motivated to provide a better life for my family.
I knew I had to take initiative by furthering my education and gaining more insight on a career in finance.
It is crucial to have a small network of friends/family to strive and better yourself and others along the way.
For these reasons, I joined Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow.
I am currently a sophomore majoring in Finance at Baruch College. I always had a passion for money management/advisement,
I will be looking to expand my knowledge of business-related topics such as financial analysis, accounting,
stock trading and much more. In my free time, I enjoy learning more about history, watching documentaries/movies and
learning more about cinema (particularly action related or superhero films).
As the first of five to enter college directly after high school, I felt a huge amount of weight on my shoulders.
Growing up, I was destined to be another statistic. but this past year I broke that stigma.
As a Hispanic woman, I find it essential to break these stigmas for future generations to come,
which is why I joined Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow.
Currently, I am a freshman at Hunter College with intent to double major in Chinese

future career lies in, I hope the next four years will allow me to find my true calling.

off-campus called LetHerLearn. Outside of my academics, I enjoy playing basketball and volleyball,
owning a small Etsy shop, as well as creating music on my keyboard.
Knowing that I am a first-generation college student, I feel most driven to go towards a career path that will

responsibility to be the first to succeed and set an example for my younger sister. So, I joined Diverse Influencers
as a Business Fellow to be exposed to knowledge within my desired field.
I am going into my second year as a sophomore majoring in Accounting at Baruch College. With a major in accounting,
I want to become an accountant in the future. Currently, I am a part of the Baruch Accounting Society Club as a
Marketing Committee Member. One perk is that I know about upcoming events in advance. Some of my hobbies include
baking and following workout videos on YouTube.
As a first-generation college student, I would have never thought I would come this far.
I was born in America but lived in China for six years with my grandparents while my parents worked in America.
When I moved back to America, I knew no English and felt completely lost and hopeless. Luckily, I always had my
parents there to support and encourage me. They are my motivation to succeed as I hope to one day give back and
allow them to retire as soon as possible. Professional development is important to me because I believe that there’s
always room for personal growth. In addition, with a good support system and positive attitude, anything is possible.
I am in Diverse Influencers because I want to be in a community where I am surrounded by people who are also driven to succeed.
I am currently a sophomore majoring in Finance at Baruch College. In addition to DI, I enjoy being involved on campus. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors whether it’s running, biking, or exploring the city looking for new adventures.
As the youngest first-generation college student in my family, I have realized what can be achievable
through my family members. They serve as examples of what my future goals can be and remind me that it is
possible to reach those goals. I want to prove through my effort and action that I am more than the youngest
one in the family. To step towards that goal, I joined Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow to gain experience
and learn from others what I need to succeed.
I am a freshman at Hunter College, enrolled as an Honors Scholar with plans to major in Computer Science.

In my free time, I like to relax by playing mobile games and watching YouTube videos.
Being a first-generation Muslim woman, I have always wanted to be the one that is financially stable and have an education.
This is something I have not witnessed a lot of women in my life have. It became my goal as a child to make sure I become
the woman I wanted as a role model. Keeping that in mind, this is why I joined Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow.
DI will help guide me towards becoming the successful woman I want to be.
I am currently a sophomore at Queens College and undecided on what I want to major in. However, I have some interest
in pursuing Accounting. This school year, I will seek opportunities to learn more about the field through meeting
professionals and searching for internships. In my free time, I love to partake in activities that require me to be
active such as ice skating, riding a bike, and whatnot. And of course, I will watch my favorite shows on Netflix.
As a first-generation college student and the oldest of three siblings, it’s crucial that I take every
opportunity to bring myself up and surround myself with inspirational mentors and peers. I know that when I’m growing myself,
I’m giving back to my family and paving a path for my sisters to follow. I joined Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow because
it’s an opportunity to meet other like-minded individuals and to work on bettering myself.
Currently, I am a sophomore at Macaulay Honors College at the City College of New York majoring in Computer Science.

On campus, I serve as the treasurer of the Macaulay Book Club. In addition, I am also on the organizing team for
CUNY Hackathon 2021 and teach elementary school students Scratch part-time. When I’m not doing all of those things,
I like to take long walks and read epic fantasy books!
Having been raised in an immigrant household, I have always looked up to my parents’ drive to succeed and live a good life.
Through the telling of their experiences, they instilled in me the importance of a strong work ethic and a good education.
I know that my family has already given me a strong foundation to succeed and it is now up to me to carve my own life path.
Thus, I joined Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow to explore possible career routes and opportunities.
I am currently a sophomore majoring in Financial Mathematics at the Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College.
I am pursuing a career in financial services, but I also recently developed a profound interest in computer
programming and software engineering, which is why I am excited to be a Technology Fellow this year!
In addition to Diverse Influencers, I am involved with the Finance and Economics Society at Baruch,
where I am the Treasurer and an in-club mentor. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, driving to new places,
and baking sweets!
As a first-generation Hispanic college student, I am motivated to take down barriers that try to prevent me from reaching my goals.
I want my family to learn that even though I may not hold any interests to become a lawyer or a doctor,
I can still be successful despite the challenges that we are experiencing today. Therefore,
I am always trying to be involved in programs that are closely related to my career-interests and taking advantage of opportunities
that are presented in order to expand my knowledge and skills that will benefit me in the future. Hence, I believe that joining
Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow is a wise choice on my part as I am interested in developing my skills that I can use for my career.
I am currently a freshman at Hunter College, majoring in Political Science and considering minoring in International Relations.
Even though I am not certain whether or not the opportunities I pursue will secure my career as an Intelligence Analyst,
I am still grateful for the benefits I obtain from being part of the programs I have taken part in. Off campus,
I have been helping my mother after school with bottle picking twice a week to have extra money to support us throughout the pandemic.
As for my outside interests and hobbies, I enjoy watching Netflix, listening to music, and drawing random shapes and lines to distract
myself from my academics and provide a moment of peace whenever I feel stress or anxious.
I am a first-generation Chinese American and my goal is to be financially stable after college in
order to support my parents when they retire. As a college student, I want to explore more career options
in the business field as well as meet others in the industry. This is why I joined Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow.
I am very grateful that DI will pair me with a mentor to guide me in my professional development and support me in my journey
of working towards my passion. My goal is to be prepared and have the necessary skills that will qualify me for a well-paying
job right after college.
Currently, I am a freshman attending Baruch College with an interest in entrepreneurship.
My inspiration comes from the stories I see on my favorite show, Shark Tank. In the future, I hope to have my own business. On campus, I am a Data Analyst in the Collegiate Association of Women in Business. In my free time, I enjoy learning about nutrition, health and wellness, environmental sustainability, and exploring different cultures through food and language. Lastly, I love to cook!
As a first-generation Black college student from Harlem, I am motivated and driven to help my family financially.
While I grew up in Harlem, I want to move away from the crimes that have been rising and the bad influence around here.
In addition, my parents motivate me and without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I want to finally give back to them by
helping them financially. Therefore, it is crucial for me to take my career development journey seriously and surround myself
with individuals equally eager to succeed. This is why I decided to be a Technology Fellow in Diverse Influencers.
I am currently a sophomore majoring in Computer Information Systems at Baruch College. After graduating, I aspire to be a Software Developer
at a tech company that focuses on computer software, cloud computing, and computer hardware. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball with
my friends and watching ESPN.
Coming from a disadvantaged background, I am determined to become successful for my family, especially my mom.

time painting, drawing, and making sculptures. Additionally, I like to explore New York City with my family and friends.
Being a first-generation college student has been quite difficult, but knowing one day that I will
be financially independent has motivated me to strive for higher goals. I know one important tool to be
successful in computer science is networking. This is why I joined Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow.
DI will play a big role in my success.
I am a freshman majoring in Computer Science at Lehman College. On campus, I joined the Pathways to Student Stem Success.
At the moment, I’m trying to explore different career paths, with an interest in web development. In my free time,
I enjoy spending it with my baby sister and watching Netflix.
Ever since I was a kid I’ve been intrigued by Math. In a complete contrast to that, my second favorite subject was Art.
I’ve always liked creating new things, even though my art skills weren’t exactly A-one. When I first started to code,
I learned that computer science is the intersection between those two subjects. I knew that it was something that I
wanted to pursue in life. I joined Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow to learn more about the tech field,
and to have a community to grow and learn with.
I am a freshman at the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College with plans to major in Computer Science and minor in Mathematics.
On campus, I am an active member of the Open Source Club. Off campus, I volunteer at a non-profit organization called Hood Code.
I am a first-generation college student. My parents came to the United States from China.
They have both sacrificed a lot and work hard every day to support our family. They raised me to be who I am, and
I couldn’t be more thankful and proud of that. My parents are my biggest motivation. I want to make them proud by
working towards a stable career, so they can take a step back to relax. I am driven to succeed and accomplish my goals
through challenges that I will face throughout my journey, because at the end of the day it will be worth it.
To do that, I always think positive and believe in myself – to trust the process. This is the reason why I
wanted to join Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow. Learning through workshops, completing projects, enhancing skills,
and having a mentor and other people that I will meet here to support and guide me is what attracted me to the organization.
I am currently a sophomore at Brooklyn College planning to major in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
When I first entered college, I thought of majoring in Education because I enjoy working with kids. Previously, I was a counselor
for students at a public-school during afterschool and summer for 3 years. As much as I loved working with kids, I realized that
being a teacher is not what I wanted to pursue. That is when I decided that a job in the business field is what I wanted to go for.
I love interacting and working together with people, thinking creatively, solving problems, and analyzing data. I took a couple of
business courses to see which one interested me the most. The moment I took marketing class, it intrigued me enough to fully pursue it.
However, I am open to other opportunities because this I always seek to learn new skills. Aside from school and work, I like to hang out
with my friends and family, travel, do outdoor activities, play volleyball, and watch Netflix.
As a first-generation college student, I am driven by my parents’ efforts to move to the United States, so that I can have a better education.
I must dedicate my future to something I love learning about. For this specific reason, I joined Diverse Influencers as a
Technology Fellow to help pursue my passion for coding.
I am currently a freshman attending City College of New York as a Computer Science major. I aspire to be a Software Engineer or a
Data Scientist but honestly, I will see what the future holds for me. In addition to DI, I have joined organizations on-campus such as
WICS (Women in Computer Science) and ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) to dive deep into what the tech field holds for my career.
I also have a part-time job as a Financial Aid Assistant during school hours. In my free time, I enjoying watching Korean dramas or Netflix
shows and listening to Korean pop.
As a first-generation Latina college student, I am inspired to help build generational wealth for my family and empower
others from my community. Growing up with limited resources and opportunity pushed me to observe my surroundings and become ambitious.
Working on skills that will improve my career development, professional network, and leadership roles is essential for me to become successful.
For that reason, I became interested in Diverse Influencers and joined as a Business Fellow.
I am currently a freshman at Borough of Manhattan Community College. Although I am a Liberal Arts major, my main interest
lies on being a beauty entrepreneur. In addition to DI, I want to use my time to complete internships, specifically with startups.
Being able to learn from other successful entrepreneurs and their story is something I look forward to. I also currently work
part-time as a barista. In my free time, I like to make D.I.Ys.
My motivation to succeed derives from my desire to help my parents realize that their sacrifices were worth it.
I come from a low-income background, so I’m also not very familiar with how to best present myself professionally.
I joined Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow to grow my support and professional network because I want to be a
part of an environment of endless learning. Nowadays, it’s not necessarily about what you know, but whom you know.
So, I’m excited to make amazing friends with my peers and build meaningful connections with my mentors.
I am currently a freshman at Baruch College interested in pursuing Human Resources Management.
The business field is multi-faceted, so there are so many other sub-fields I also want to study.
I am also interested in Operations Management and Finance. On campus, I am part of the accelerator program at ALPFA Baruch,
where I am learning about the technical aspects of a career in finance and how to hone my professional skills.
Along with school, I am also a program evaluation intern at Metis Associates, a research consulting firm.
During my free time, I love to experiment with cooking different cuisines and following the world of K-pop.
As a first-generation college student, I am motivated to bring pride to my family with my academic and career achievements.
However, I lack the professional network to assist me with navigating the career process and obtaining experiential learning opportunities.
Thus, I joined Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow to further my banking and finance knowledge, as well as gain exposure to different
areas within business to learn more about myself and what job I would be most passionate about.
I am currently a sophomore majoring in Finance and double minoring in Mathematics and Data Analytics at Baruch College. In addition to DI,
I am part of the Women in Business Club on campus, where my role is to assist with marketing virtual events through social media.
I am also part of the Conversation Partners Program where my role is to mentor a non-native English speaker to help boost confidence
in speaking English and expand cultural knowledge. In my free time I like to read books, cook, bake, and paint.
Growing up in New York City as a Pakistani-American and being the first woman in my family to attend college,
I knew that the cards were stacked against me in terms of career development. I feel that it is important for
me to make the most out of my educational experience and never hold myself back from pursuing any opportunities
that may seem too challenging. It’s important to stay persistent and have a determined attitude, as well as keeping
myself surrounded by like-minded individuals. These reasons are why I joined Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow.
Currently, I am a sophomore majoring in Computer Information Systems with a concentration in Cybersecurity with intended minors
in Mathematics and Data Analytics at Baruch College. In the future, I hope to land a job in Risk Management, Risk Consulting,
or serve as a Technology Analyst. As well as being a Technology Fellow at Diverse Influencers, I am also involved in
extracurricular activities on campus, currently serving as Assistant Secretary at the ISACA Cybersecurity Club.
While juggling all of these responsibilities in my life, I am also working part-time at CVS Health as a Sales Colleague,
where I have also started training for Pharmacy operations. In my free time, I love to travel, listen to music,
and spend time with family and friends.
As a woman in STEM, I am always motivated to be as involved as I can in my environment.
Being the middle child and a role model to my younger sister is also another motivator for me
that always keeps me going. Seeing how the gender gap is slowly decreasing in STEM related
careers, especially tech wise, and knowing that I am one of the reasons that it is decreasing is
another great goal of mine that always keeps me striving. This was also the reason why I joined
Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow. I want to maintain my involvement in a fellowship that
promotes diversity and tech, which are fields that I am highly interested in.
Currently, I am a sophomore majoring in Computer Engineering at City College. I
was always set on my major since I was a freshman, however I am unsure about my career
position in the future. I am considering becoming a Software Engineer or maybe something with
FinTech, but I am unsure. I recently had a position with Upperline Code as a Teaching Assistant
for several of their summer CS classes for incoming freshmen. As a result, I strengthened my CS skills,
as well as some of my soft skills. I also recently got accepted for a Winternship and will be interning
for a tech related company soon. In my free time, I look after my little sister and watch Netflix and TikTok.
I am a first-generation Mexican American female from the Bronx, and my biggest motivation is to repay my parents for all their sacrifices.
Because my parents aren’t from this country, I wasn’t given the same career advantages some of my peers had. For this reason,
I joined Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow, so I could gain experience for my future career.
I am a sophomore at the City College of New York as an Economics major and intend to apply to the Grove School of Engineering,
so that I may study Computer Science. I aspire to work in the Cybersecurity field. On campus, I am in the Women in Computer Science
club as an active member. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing with Makeup.
My name is Alexandria Parkes. I was born in the East Bronx. A few months ago,
I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus that caused me to develop class IV Lupus Nephritis.
Being diagnosed with a chronic illness of this degree at such a young age made me question whether or not it was
still possible for me to reach the level of success that I desired. After coming to terms with my disease,
I decided not to give up and let it control my life. That’s why it’s imperative that I work as hard as I can
now and invest my time and effort into doing things that will aid in my professional growth and help me to reach all my life goals.
Being involved in Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow will assist not only in my professional growth, but in my personal growth as well.
It’ll help strengthen my interpersonal, leadership, and public speaking skills. All things that are necessary in order to reach my full potential.
I’m currently an Undecided freshman at Lehman College. Even though I have yet to declare my major, I’m taking classes under a Business Administration track since that’s currently the field
that piques my interest and I feel will suit me best. I thoroughly enjoy planning every single
aspect of my life, even the things that haven’t happened yet. I make vision boards and have
recently started working on a “vision notebook” that I can take with me anywhere I go. Everything from my next meal, all the way down to where I see myself in the next 10 years gets written down. Even though not everything always goes as planned, I don’t get discouraged. I
adjust, then re-plan over and over again.
Early in life, I was exuberant and attracted those who fed off that energy. More often than not
however, people compounded this trait with ignorance, and I was perceived as the “village idiot” of sorts.
I yielded to having this flat character be my profile until the latter half of my high school years when I met
adults who associated with me and then started embracing ideas and opinions I had, much more so than I did.
Henceforth, I craved knowledge to empower and to become the genius that those adjacent already saw.
My pursuit for intellectual growth encourages me to thrive from experiences, in turn aiding my professional growth.
To be among likeminded peers and for the privilege of having mentors who will assist and bestow faith in me are reasons
I joined Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow.
As a freshman at Hunter College, it is difficult to foresee the major I would declare.
The current candidates are English and Economics. On campus, I am enlisting in a fraternity called Kappa Sigma and
in addition to my loyalty to DI, I am a member of clubs at Hunter such as InterVarsity, the Caribbean Student Union,
and Black Male Initiative. Hobbies of mine include playing badminton, journaling and watching western and Japanese cartoons.
As an Indian American woman, I am determined to create a space in the business field for my peers and next
generation of women in business. It is critical that I stay focused on my career advancement by building a
well-rounded skillset that will aid me in my career journey. Accordingly, I joined Diverse Influencers as
a Fellow to build my soft and hard skills.
I am currently a freshman majoring in Accounting at Baruch College. At this moment, I am exploring Forensic Accounting,
but also open to other career paths. Accompanying Diverse Influencers, I work towards my career goals by being an
active member at the Baruch Accounting Society and committee member on the College Association of Women in Business.
In addition, I participate in cultural events happening around New York City. In my free time, I enjoy reading novels and
taking care of my plants!
I am a first-generation college student who is motivated to succeed because of all the hardships that my parents
had to go through just to give me a good education. As a first-generation college student, I do not have too many opportunities
to be around and learn from professionals, so I need to invest my time in professional development and learn from professionals
to become successful. Therefore, I was motivated to join Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow.
I am currently a sophomore studying Computer Science at the City College of New York. I am considering Web Development or Software Engineering as my path in the computer science field. In addition to DI, I have joined organizations such as SASE (Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers), ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), and NSA (Nepalese Student Association) to work towards my career goals. I am also work full-time as a lifeguard during times that do not conflict with my live classes, so that I can make some money during these hard times. During my free time, I enjoy watching K-dramas, Anime, working out and spending time with my family and friends.
Growing up religious, I was told by some that a woman’s primary responsibility and fulfillment should be as a mother in the home.
I was motivated to prove that I, a woman, can find fulfillment and achieve financial independence, specifically in a field
in which women are underrepresented. I joined Diverse Influencers as a Technology Fellow because it offers a structured environment
to expand the skills and knowledge necessary and helpful in becoming more career ready.
I am currently a freshman majoring in Computer Science at the Macaulay Honors College at Brooklyn College. In addition to Diverse Influencers, I am part of the Brooklyn College Computer Science Club and MHC++ (Macaulay Honors College computer science club) to explore computer science outside of the classroom. I am also part of the Freshman Career Readiness Academy at Brooklyn College, where I learn practical skills on becoming more career ready. In my free time, I enjoy having long conversations with my siblings and listening to music.
Being financially disadvantaged and raised by a single mother is my fuel to keep on going, with not only for my mother’s
happiness but mine as well. This is my chance to develop into the person that I want to be in the future.
A person having the necessary tools to get to the success that I strive to obtain. For these reasons,
I joined Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow.
I am currently an undeclared freshman at Lehman College. As of right now, I don’t have an idea of what career to pursue.
Other than being a student, I work at a church once a week on Sundays. This is my first job that I have gratefully been able
to maintain since the age of 16. Working at the church allows me to not only have a job, but to also give back to my community.
I moved to the United States when I was 11 hoping for a better education and ultimately a better shot at life.
I’m very inspired by the people around me as they continue to believe in me and push me to work harder.
I’m also extremely inspired by New York City and how everyone in this city is just trying to “make” it. It serves as a hope for me.
I know that in order for me to survive in this cut-throat city, I need to take actions early, really learn from professionals,
and gain experience, which is why I joined Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow.
I am currently a freshman majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in
Marketing at CUNY Brooklyn College. I also have an interest in psychology, which is why I’m planning to take
psychology classes in the future as well. Additionally, I’m also a part of the International Business Club on
campus and REBNY Real Estate internship program this fall semester. Currently, I work at a farmer’s market on Saturdays,
but I will no longer be working there since DI collides with my work schedule. Therefore, I decided to dedicate my time to be
fully focused on DI. During my free time, I watch a lot of TV series; I find watching shows and living through character’s life
vicariously oddly comforting and fun as well.
My parents are my greatest motivators. They worked their way up from nothing to provide a comfortable life for my siblings and me.
I feel it’s my responsibility to show them that their tireless efforts amounted to something. To meet those goals, I’ve adopted a new mindset to live by.
I will be steering myself in the right direction, ideally helping me gain financial freedom to pay my parents back tenfold. The first step into achieving such
aspirations is to surround myself with like-minded individuals to gain the support and experiences needed to succeed. For that reason, I joined Diverse Influencers
as a Technology Fellow to further my journey towards my career goals.
Currently, I am a sophomore at Hunter College, planning to major in Computer Science and minor in Mathematics. My aim is to continue expanding upon my knowledge of
multiple computer programming languages to allow myself to gain a focal point on what jobs are most suitable for me. Aside from being a full-time student, I also work
as a part-time cashier at Popeyes and tutor students in Mathematics. I typically spend my free time with my friends or catching up on my Netflix shows.
Being raised with electronics, I’ve developed the passion for the hardware and software which allows me to access the internet.
Knowing that this is also a viable career path, looking for opportunities such as Diverse Influencers is my current goal.
It’s a godsend that DI is willing to help me with exactly what I want to improve on. This is why I joined the organization as a Technology Fellow.
Currently, I am attending Baruch College, majoring in Computer Information Systems, and looking for a career path in that exact field.
Junior year and senior year of high school, I’ve studied for Networking certifications, and have gained the CCENT. I aim to achieve the
CCNA certification, however, I am unsure whether I want to continue with this path or diverge into coding. Both of these are passions of mine,
and I continue to improve myself in both fields. Besides my education, I enjoy playing video games, mostly single player, while talking to my
friends in voice chats on Discord.
I am a second-Asian American; my mother started her college education a few years ago
while I was in high school. Because of this, I strive for an education that offers me the
opportunity to achieve academic excellence with the least amount of financial burden.
Thus, my taking the adequate time to invest in my professional journey is an integral part of career
development. Joining Diverse Influencers as a Business Fellow is the first step towards progress in my
endeavors—it will help me build a concrete foundation as I explore various opportunities pertaining to
my particular field of interest: marketing.
As a freshman at the Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College, I intend to major in Marketing Management with a concentration in Marketing Analytics. However, I keep an open mind to other available concentrations in the field of marketing. Through Diverse Influencers, I anticipate exploring new career opportunities that combine Marketing and Technology, as I have learned quite a few programming languages in high school. Apart from DI, I am training to
become a marketer at Spoon University—an all-things-food club at Macaulay—and exploring
what Women in Business at Baruch and Macaulay Business Club have to offer. At my leisure, I
like to run, play lacrosse with friends, do Pilates, and learn classical pieces on the piano.
As an immigrant, I have learned from the start to value education as a means to “make it in America.” It is for that reason
I seek opportunities, like Diverse Influencers, to gain knowledge for my professional development as I step into my career in business.
Currently, I am a sophomore at Hunter College double majoring in Economics and Statistics with a minor in Mathematics.
I am looking forward to getting into a career in Investment Banking or Equity Research after college. Outside of school,
I intern at a marketing company, Optilytics Media, and a not-for-profit organization, Shoqata Peja. As for my free time,
I enjoy shopping for unique clothing pieces and keeping up with the fashion industry. Like many, I am also an avid watcher
of TikTok and ‘dabble’ in creating my own videos.
As a first-generation college student, I am inspired to take advantage of the opportunities
that are presented to me. It is essential for me to develop my career early on and surround
myself with peers that can motivate me towards my success. For that reason, I joined Diverse
Influencers as a Technology Fellow.
I am currently a freshman majoring in Biology at the Macaulay Honors College at City College.
Although I am not sure what career path to pursue, I have found myself to be passionate about
computer science and its applications in biology. In addition to Diverse Influencers,
I work towards my career goals by attending various information sessions about research
opportunities available on campus. I also work as a part time barista and enjoy watching
animations and playing basketball in my spare time.
